Calvin the Bull

6 feet x 5 feet wood, plastic, paper, cardboard, faux fur, acrylic paint, papier mache

Calvin is winking at Picasso fully aware that he has the edge on being cute, and confident that he is more elegant than a meat market diagram of choice cuts. One of my very first wall mounted sculptures, his direct gaze from his one open eye and his moveable tail just make me smile.

As an art student you paint over many of your creation or redo parts in other works. A lot were useful at the time but not ‘keepers’ and you have neither the storage space nor the money to keep making things from scratch. Calvin has only recently been disassembled and stored and I hope to resurrect him again sometime.
