Collagraphs

One of the interesting things about creating collagraphs is that you can experiment with a variety of items to achieve interesting surface textures. Plastic or net bags, fabric, thread, tea leaves, oatmeal, sand, raffia, aluminum foil, toothpicks are just a few of the many things you can seal into your surface and ink up and print. While not as durable as copper or zinc etchings, you can print more than one copy in various colours. These were one of my introductions to the variety of things that can be used to make prints.
