Bio

Straighten Up and Fly Right

Born in Vancouver, I spent most of my adult life in Toronto. After an HBA in Economics and Political Science at the University of Toronto and other specialized education including  (Rotman School of Business, University Associates, Case Western Reserve University) provided the expertise to work in various managerial roles in large corporations. The opportunity to work with a variety of amazing people around the world and to visit and live in other areas had a side benefit of spending time visiting galleries and learning about different cultures and artistic expression.

Not until retirement did I become a creator of art instead instead of a collector and spectator. My interests lie in the intersection between lived experience and observation and the current state of scientific knowledge about the environment. My work reflects the world around us and a visual representation of the issues we face.

I attended TRU expecting to continue my fascination with etching, but I have had the opportunity to learn and try other things. Many disciplines are still beyond my reach but not beyond my interest and admiration. Now working as a mixed media sculptural and abstract painting artist, I re-create such concerns as melting glaciers, tornados, abandoned oil derricks, forest fires and noise pollution.

Artworks have been seen in the Salmon Arm and TRU Art Gallery. Alberta Printmakers and Cascade Print Exchange in Oregon.
