Glacial melt is generally known but not obvious in our day to day lives. We know about climate change and we see it in the weather but few of us live near glaciers. With the ‘floating’ pieces of broken glacier I wanted to make it more present for the viewer coming right out into the viewing area. Referred to as ‘retreating’ , the annual change is often dramatic and explained as if the glacier is choosing to pull back when it is actually being actively eroded by the conditions around it.
